Alamogordo's holiday season kicks off Saturday, November 7, with a free airport open house and the Sounds of Freedom Veterans Appreciation Day, and runs through Small Business Saturday on November 28, the Christmas Tree Lighting in Washington Park on Friday, December 4, and Zoobilee at the Alameda Park Zoo on Saturday, December 12. What happens on November 7?
It is a big Saturday for honoring veterans. The free Airport Open House and Veterans Appreciation Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alamogordo-White Sands Regional Airport, with planes on display, STEM exhibits and food trucks.
