Chaparral Middle School's annual Fall Festival and Show and Shine Car Showcase is Friday, November 13, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the school, 1401 College Ave. in Alamogordo. If you want to show a car, run a food truck or set up a vendor booth, the pre-registration deadline is this Thursday, October 29. Every dollar raised goes to 8th grade field trips and activities.

I love events like this one. You get classic cars, food trucks, local makers and a crowd of proud middle school families, all for a good cause.

How do I register a car, food truck or booth?

Alamogordo Public Schools says its official registration form is the only official way to sign up, and that official emails about the event will only come from an @alamogordoschools.org address. You can see that note on the district's Fall Fest registration post.

Here are the fees from the 8th Grade Team's flyer:

What will families find at the Fall Festival?

The flyer promises a school dance, a haunted house, face painting, the car show, food trucks and vendors. The organizers said more details are coming, so it is worth checking the school's page as the date gets closer.

The festival is presented by the 8th Grade Team and Student Council and sponsored by Team Familia. Bring a little cash for food and shopping. The flyer did not list an admission price for visitors.

Raises money for8th grade field trips and activities

    Where does the money go?

Every booth and car fee helps Chaparral's 8th graders pay for field trips and activities this year. Those trips are the kind of thing kids remember long after middle school, and fundraisers like this keep them affordable for every family.

If your family is looking for more fall fun, my Alamogordo trick or treat map lists every confirmed Halloween event in town this week.

What does this mean for families moving here?

Chaparral is one of three middle schools in Alamogordo Public Schools, along with Mountain View and Holloman Middle School. Events like this are an easy way for new families to meet teachers, other parents and neighbors.

If you are PCSing to Holloman with school-age kids, my guide to schools and enrollment for Holloman families covers getting your kids enrolled, and my neighborhoods page can help you think about where to live.
