Veterans and their families are invited to a free dinner on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center, 800 E. First St. in Alamogordo. The Holloman Air Force Sergeants Association, Chapter 1257, is hosting its 13th annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner, the night before Veterans Day.
This is one of my favorite kinds of local events. It is simple, it is free, and it is our community saying thank you in person.

Who is the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 1257?
The Air Force Sergeants Association speaks up for enlisted Airmen, retirees, veterans and their families. The Holloman chapter, Chapter 1257, was founded in 1972, and over the years it has pitched in on local volunteer projects, from community garden workdays to coordinating the 2024 Fourth of July celebration, according to 2nd Life Media Alamogordo Town News.
Do veterans need to sign up?
The Chamber listing does not mention tickets or an RSVP. If you are bringing a large family group, it never hurts to check with the chapter on its Facebook page or ask at the Chamber, 1301 N. White Sands Blvd., before you go.

Veterans Day week is full in Alamogordo. The Veterans Day parade steps off Saturday, November 7, at 10 a.m. on 10th Street.
